We encourage excellent attendance at all times, poor attendance effects progress. We work very closely with the Educational Welfare Officer who follows up poor attenders and the reasons for absence.
If a child is too ill to attend school, we ask that you contact school on the first day of absence, with a reason for absence and an estimated time of return. If we do not hear from parents we will contact you.
Whenever possible please avoid doctor or dentist appointments during school time.
We appreciate that absence during term time may be unavoidable for various reasons, however, if a holiday is requested in term time, children’s attendance record and progress will be considered before any absence is authorised. Authorised absence is at the discretion of the Headteacher and must be requested by using this form giving the possible dates of absence.
Our Educational Welfare Officer Kelly Reynolds is available by contacting the school if you require any help or support in relation to your child's attendance. Kelly may contact you directly if we feel that it is necessary.
Our Parent Support Advisor is Jane Herron and is available to meet and discuss any support needs you might have with your child/children regarding their attendance and punctuality at school.
If you could benefit from some support and/or advice, feel free to call at reception and ask for Jane or alternatively arrange a time to meet using the following number: 07392273692
Don’t leave it until your child’s attendance/punctuality becomes an issue, call in and share your concerns.
