AMBITION
At Broom Cottages Primary School, ambition is one of our core values because it inspires every child to aim high and believe in what they can achieve. We encourage our children to be their best!
Ambition means having the confidence to set goals, the determination to work towards them and the resilience to keep going even when things feel challenging.
We encourage our pupils to be curious, to try new things and to see mistakes as opportunities to grow. By nurturing ambition, we help our children build the skills and self-belief they need to succeed both in school and beyond.

COLLABORATION
At Broom Cottages Primary School, collaboration is a core value because we believe we achieve more when we work together.
Collaboration means listening to each other, sharing ideas, and supporting one another to reach a shared goal. It helps our pupils build strong relationships, communicate effectively, and value the strengths that everyone brings.
By working as a team—whether in the classroom, on the playground or within the wider community—our children learn that they can solve problems more creatively and make a bigger impact when they collaborate.

CURIOSITY
At Broom Cottages Primary School, curiosity is a core value because it drives children to explore, question and discover the world around them.
Curiosity means wanting to learn more, asking thoughtful questions and showing enthusiasm for new ideas and experiences.
From the moment our children begin their educational journey in the Early Years, we nurture curiosity by creating a learning environment where pupils feel confident to investigate, experiment, and follow their interests. As they get older, we encourage them to ask questions and wonder because when children are curious, they become active learners who think deeply, solve problems creatively and develop a lifelong love of learning.

KINDNESS
At Broom Cottages Primary School, kindness is a core value because it helps us create a safe, welcoming and supportive community for everyone.
Kindness means being thoughtful, respectful and caring in the way we speak and act. It’s about noticing when someone needs help, celebrating each other’s successes and treating others the way we would like to be treated.
By promoting kindness every day—in classrooms, on the playground and across our school—we help our pupils build strong friendships, develop empathy and grow into compassionate and responsible individuals.
RESILIENCE
At Broom Cottages Primary School, resilience is a core value because it helps our pupils learn to keep going, even when things feel challenging.
Resilience means staying positive, trying again after setbacks, and believing that effort leads to progress. It gives children the confidence to face new experiences, solve problems and learn from mistakes.
By encouraging resilience in the classroom and beyond, we help our pupils develop perseverance, independence and a strong sense of self‑belief—qualities that will support them throughout their lives.
