Children will learn about key figures from history. They will also experience the following:
· Visits to local museums.
· Visits to places of local historical interest including the War Memorial in Ferryhill, Durham Cathedral and Segedunum Roman Fort.
· A cross-curricular understanding of key historical figures including examples such as Grace Darling, Charles Darwin, Neil Armstrong and Tim Peake.
As Ferryhill has a rich mining history, the children will be encouraged to research past events in their home town.
