PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
Personal development in primary school refers to the wide range of opportunities we provide to help children grow as confident, responsible and well-rounded individuals. It goes beyond academic learning and focuses on supporting pupils’ emotional, social and moral development.
This includes helping children understand themselves and their feelings, build positive relationships with others, and develop important life skills such as resilience, independence, respect and teamwork. Personal development is nurtured through everyday classroom experiences, as well as through wider opportunities like assemblies, extracurricular activities, educational visits and pupil leadership roles.
Through a strong focus on personal development, we aim to prepare our pupils not only for the next stage of their education, but also for life in modern Britain—equipping them with the values, attitudes and skills they need to thrive both in school and beyond.
